A Place For Me Family Childcare
My name is Linda, I am a family childcare provider in Bear Delaware. I've been a licensed childcare provider since 1989.
I am very lucky to have a wonderful husband. We have 6 children between us, I have 2 children and he has 4. My daughter is 25 & works as a nurse at a local hospital. My son is 21 and is currently in college with a goal to be a nurse practitioner. My children have been raised most of their lives with daycare in their home. It was great for my son because when I started daycare, I enrolled children around his age, he always had friends around to play with. My daughter was a little older so her role became one of a helper to me, she has even worked at a daycare center. They are happy with mom's profession. I get compliments all of the time about how great my kids are with my daycare children. They sincerely enjoy having little ones around.
My Goals
My goals are that when a child has grown, that he or she will look back upon their days with me with happy, fun filled memories.
I want them to not only learn, but develop self confidence & self esteem. I want each child to feel as though they belong. I want them to learn cooperation, respect of not only others but of themselves, communication, patience, kindness and how to be a friend.
I will set good examples.
I will educate myself so that I can be the best provider possible.
I will encourage open communication and cooperation with parents.
My Daycare Home
My home is located in a development close to the intersection of Rt. 40 & Rt. 72. My home is bi-level construction with the entire lower level dedicated to child care. Outside I have a very large deck and a section is now enclosed with a screened in canopy. My back yard is totally fenced in with a large wooden swing set for the kids. I have outdoor toys also.
I do have a pool which is completely surrounded by locked gates. Children do not have access to this area unless they are with me & wearing a life jacket. Outdoor pool time in the summer is a favorite of my kids.
My daycare room has a pre-school type feel. It is large, bright, cheerful & clean. I am continually purchasing new toys, puzzles & craft things for the children to keep them busy.
